Great idea for Holiday decoration storage

I must admit, right up front, that I did not come up with this idea. I saw it on Pinterest and just went back to Pinterest to try to find it so I could credit the person who started it. Sadly, I must have just remembered the idea instead of pinning it, so I have no idea where the credit should go.

It is, however, a great idea!

There’s always something I am specifically looking for in the Holiday decorations boxes, whether it’s the stockings or the particular bowl, or whatever. I end up searching through many boxes, some more than once, before I find what I am looking for. That’s why this idea I found is so AWESOME!

I’ve always labeled my Holiday Decorations tubs with cards that say “Baumschmuck”. That’s because when we were in Frankfurt, Germany, that was the name of the section of the main Department Store that was for holiday decorations. It kinda stuck!

This year, thought, I took the idea of the unknown and therefore unnamed person, and made the cards twice as long so I could list all the contents of each tub. I folded them in half, stuck them in badge holders I got at Staples, and attached the badge holders to the tubs. Yes, I could have done a little neater job of the taping. Don’t judge.

Yes, I’m an organizing dork, but I’m so excited about this improvement. No more rifling through bins of stuff to find what I’m looking for! Feel free to steal this idea and make it your own.
